Profile of the Speaker:

Shamim Jubair Ahmed, accomplished my B. Sc in mechanical engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology, Dhaka in March 2009. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, he worked as an Assistant Engineer in Karnafuly Ship Builders Limited, Chittagong from April 2009 to March 2010. Later, I joined to Eastern Refinery Limited, Chittagong which is the only public crude oil refinery in Bangladesh and worked there as Probationary Engineer (Mechanical) from April 2010 to April 2012 and as Assistant Manager (Inspection) from April 2012 to August 2013.
In September 2013, he moved to Seoul national University, ROK to pursue my M. Sc in Nuclear Engineering which I have successfully accomplished in August 2015. I am going to start my PhD in Mechanical Engineering as a MEXT scholar in The University of Tokyo, Japan from October 2015. During my search for Masters and PhD scholarship opportunities, I have also received a number of research assistantship/ Scholarship offers from different universities like Chonbuk National University, ROK, Louisiana Tech University, USA, University of Missouri S&T, USA, University of Magdeburg, Germany etc. But he has decided to choose Seoul National University and The University of Tokyo considering its highly reputed faculty members, cutting edge research facilities as well as its high position in world university ranking.
