Share UPSG: Arthur Guinness Fund Hackathon: Empowering Marginalised Women (FREE*)

Event Details

UP Singapore is partnering with the Arthur Guinness Fund (AGF) to host a Hackathon focusing on the Empowerment of Marginalised Women in Singapore. We are asking participants to think of and prototype ways that social enterprise can help single mothers and female ex-offenders get a better foothold in the workplace and society. We have an investment fund of up to $60,000 to award to teams with the best and most viable ideas. For more information visit


We're looking for passionate participants from all walks of life, who want to put their skills to work to help marginalised women. Whether you are a developer, programmer, designer, creative, entrepreneur, corporate or government employee, or just a motivated citizen, we need your input at this hackathon!


*Participation in the hackathon is FREE, but there is be a $10 refundable deposit required to secure your place. 




Friday 7th December, 7pm – 10pm, The Hub, Somerset 

7:00pm: Registration, dinner buffet

7:45pm: Speakers

8:30pm: Pitches and team formation

10:00pm: Close


VENUE for Friday

 We're at 113 Somerset Road, National Youth Council Academy- the red building next to Triple One and 2 minutes from Somerset MRT.

 Part of a global network of 32 HUBs, Singapore is the first HUB in Asia! HUBs worldwide are hosted environments that actively connect Hubbers, help them to collaborate, accelerate their impact, creating a home in which to co-work, attend events, and run events.



Saturday 8th December, 10am – 7pm (71 Robinson Road, Singapore, Level 7)

Teams work together on their ideas all day.

We will have mentor clinics, as well as support from roving experts. You will be able to sign up to discuss your projects on the day.

Buffet lunch and dinner will be provided, along with tea and coffee breaks.

Sunday 9th December, 10am – 3.30pm (71 Robinson Road Singapore, Level 7)

10am – 12pm: Teams refine their ideas and work on their presentation.

12pm – 1pm: Working buffet lunch

1pm – 2:30pm: Team presentations

2:30pm – 3pm: Judge’s deliberations.

3pm: Awards and celebrations. Guinness bar opens!
