5-Day Mindfulness Retreat with Residential Option

Theme: Overcoming Anxiety & Addiction

You will be traversing a range of formal and informal mindfulness practices including sitting, walking, standing, lying down and guided movements, dialogue and inquiry.  Observing silence will be required on two of the days as part of the program.

  • 2pm Registration
  • 2:30pm - 6pm Introduction and practices

Sep 3-6

  • 9am - 12pm Dr Judson Brewer's session (9am-10am) followed by practices
  • 12pm - 2pm Lunch Break
  • 2pm - 5pm Afternoon session with breaks
  • 9pm-10pm Individual Interviews

Each session will comprise guidance, mindfulness practices, Q&A  

Retreat Teachers:

Adj. A/Prof Angie Chew teaches Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy Courses. She is the leading mindfulness teacher in Singapore and has taught mindfulness to thousands including healthcare professionals, educators, bankers, technologists, homemakers and students. She has also conducted numerous mindfulness retreats.

Dr. Judson Brewer is a psychiatrist and neuroscientist who graduated from Yale and is now with the Brown University Mindfulness Centre. He studied the underlying neural mechanisms of mindfulness using standard and real-time fMRI and EEG neurofeedback, adding to the understanding of the brain’s “Default Mode Network” and the role of the posterior cingulate cortex (PCC) in self-referential thinking.

He is the author of Unwinding Anxiety and The Craving Mind: from cigarettes to smartphones to love, why we get hooked and how we can break bad habits (New Haven: Yale University Press, 2017).

He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, trained US Olympic athletes and coaches, foreign government ministers and corporate leaders. His work has been featured on 60 Minutes, TED (4th most viewed talk of 2016, with 10+ Million views), Time magazine (top 100 new health discoveries of 2013), Forbes, CNN, BBC, NPR, Al Jazeera (documentary about his research), The Washington Post, Businessweek and others.

Dr Judson Brewer who is based in the USA will be teaching via Zoom.
