Event description
This Seminar focuses on vector-borne illnesses, simultaneous management of dengue and diabetes, and prediction of dengue outbreaks.

About this Event

Dear Colleagues,

In the first two weeks of January, 455 cases of dengue were reported, thrice as many compared to that during the same two-week period last year. In addition to that, last year, there were a total of 3,285 reported cases of dengue, an increase of 20 percent from 2017. With this rise in the volume of dengue cases, we would like to update you on the latest developments in the treatment and management of the disease.

The 9th ASEAN Dengue Day Seminar, organised by the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID), will focus on vector-borne illnesses, simultaneous management of dengue and diabetes, and on how to predict dengue outbreaks. As a follow-up from the past two seminars, the National Environment Agency will provide an update on Project Wolbachia, and how this could improve dengue control in Singapore.

It is with great pleasure that NCID brings you the 9th ASEAN Dengue Day Seminar, an event sponsored by the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the College of Family Physicians Singapore, the Environment Health Institute of the National Environment Agency, the Centre for Infectious Disease Epidemiology and the Research at the National University of Singapore, the Society of Infectious Disease Singapore and the Chapter of Infectious Disease Physicians, College of Physicians, Singapore.

I look forward to seeing you at this year’s seminar, the first to be held at the Ng Teng Fong Centre for Healthcare Innovation, located next to the new NCID.
