About the Programme:
In this accompanying workshop to CANVAS/S: Textile Art, Tiffany will be sharing about her art practice, some of her previous works and how her background and training in Industrial Design informs her current practice. In this workshop, she will demonstrates how abstract patterns and colours in weaving could evoke emotions and rhythms.
Participants will gain contextual knowledge related to woven art forms and basic weave structures. They will learn how to unpack visual elements in artworks, gain new understanding on the relationship between colour and structure in weaving and have hands-on experience in creating their own woven artwork in this one hour session using paper.
About the Artist:
Tiffany Loy (b. 1987, Singapore) is a Singaporean artist and educator, trained in industrial design and textile weaving. She graduated from the Royal College of Art, with an MA in Textiles (weave specialism), and was a recipient of the DesignSingapore Scholarship in 2018.
Since the founding of her studio in 2014, Loy’s experimental works have been exhibited internationally, at venues such as Singapore Art Museum, Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art, and La Triennale di Milano.
