Looking to break into the China market? Join the ACE startup delegation for a 1-week market immersion trip to Beijing & Nanjing, China!

The tech startup and innovation ecosystem of China has taken over the world by storm, with its capital, Beijing is ranked 1st in Asia for Best Startup Ecosystem in the World (4th globally) by Startup Genome.

Among all the mature startup ecosystems in other Tier 1 cities, Nanjing is an amazing alternative Tier 2 city, with its own Sino-Singapore Nanjing Hi-tech Eco Island, Nanjing Software Valley and Nanjing Software Park. To help startups soft-land in China, ACE also established a Singapore Centre in Nanjing to help startups softland in China and use Nanjing as a gateway to unlock the China market.

Through this programme, you will get plugged into the China startup and innovation ecosystem, learn about how to do business (setting up, talent, IP, regulations, etc), and meet key ecosystem enablers and stakeholder.

Eligiblility criteria:

  • All tech startups in Singapore (preferably AI & Big Data startups)
  • Startup with traction in Singapore (revenue generating, sizeable user base, local & international partnerships, etc)
  • Startup ready and committed to expand into China

Programme fees*: S$2,000 (ACE Startup Members)/ S$2,400 (non-ACE Startup Members)

*programme fees are for each startup and up to 2 pax from each startup may attend , subject to 70% grant subsidy for qualifying costs, including flights and accommodations

Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE)

The Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) was launched in 2003 by the Ministry of Trade & Industry as a national effort to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in Singapore. It was restructured in 2014 as a private-led initiative supported by the government to continue its national mandate to drive entrepreneurship initiatives in Singapore. The Senior Minister of State for Ministry of National Development and Ministry of Trade & Industry, Dr Koh Poh Koon is Patron. Working closely with Enterprise Singapore, ACE is guided by a board of directors that comprises of experienced entrepreneurs and professionals who are immersed in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.


ACE Market Immersion

As part of the ACE International Centre's initiative to support the internationalisation journey of technology startups into the region and worldwide, ACE Market Immersion trips brings startups to their target markets in the region for ecosystem plug-in. Through meeting various startup ecosystem enablers and understanding the market from in-market experts, startups will gain insights on the potential of target markets and how to gain access.


Global Innovation Alliance (GIA)

Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) is a government initiative launched in 2017 to strengthen Singapore's links to innovation hubs around the world, to create more opportunities for Singaporeans students, entrepreneurs and businesses to connect and collaborate with their overseas counterparts and gain overseas experience. The agencies involved are Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and Singapore Economic Development Board.

The GIA was also a key recommendation in the Committee on the Future Economy (CFE) 2016 report.

 Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) is the national voice for the Singapore startup ecosystem, and a key trade association representing the interests of startups in Singapore. ACE has more than 2,000 members, representing over 1,300 startups.

ACE was established in 2003 by the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry, and re-launched as a private sector-led, non-profit organisation in 2014. ACE’s Patron is Dr Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry.

Working closely with the Government and startups, ACE aims to promote entrepreneurship, catalyse new growth opportunities, scale startups and build champion enterprises.
