About the Programme/Event

Join us for Communities@Libraries at the regional library near you! If you are looking for ways to improve your community, this engagement series is for you to spark off ideas and develop actionable solutions together with your fellow residents. Put your ideas into action by co-creating and co-delivering solutions with us. Let’s work together for a better Singapore!

Action: Strengthen Mental Resilience (A:SMR) @ Woodlands Regional Library

In your early 20s and feeling anxious about your future amidst the current circumstances? Are you able to adapt well in the face of adversity, or do you find yourself overwhelmed and crippled by negative thoughts? Given the mounting stressors from the significant disruptions brought about by the global situation, how can we work with existing communities to connect you and your peers to resources and tools to maintain your mental well-being?

Get your voice heard by joining us on this cocreation journey to combat the issue of ‘Strengthening Mental Resilience in Youths’! Through this 4-part engagement series over March to April, participants get to play an active role in co-delivering actionable solutions for the community. Step up and take action to be a changemaker with your fellow peers!

This series is open to youths aged 18 t.o 25; interested participants from other age groups are welcomed as well. Participants who are present for all 4 sessions will receive an official certificate of participation upon completion of the series.

Dates for the co-creation sessions:

*Woodlands Regional Library is the default venue for all A:SMR cocreation sessions. The alternative venue will be activated if the sessions are oversubscribed. Participants allocated to the alternative venue will be notified 5 days before the programme day itself.

A:SMR is organized by Woodlands Regional Library, in collaboration with Clarity Singapore, Matchsticks of IMH, Nanyang Polytechnic and Woodlands Health Campus.

A Communities@Libraries Journey

  1. Participants from the community will be actively involved from the start-to-end of the co-creation process: from scoping the issue statement, building up subject knowledge through learning journeys or consultations with experts, to pitching and carrying out possible solutions together with partners.
  2. Partners with subject expertise will be invited to better equip our community members with adequate knowledge on the topics and facilitate the co-creation process.
  3. Participants interested in the knowledge-sharing process will be given opportunities and resources to continue their learning journeys or sustain the community engagement in the libraries.
  4. Participants are highly encouraged to commit for all sessions throughout the journey of engagement.
