Event description
Hop on a guided tour after midnight to meet the unsung heroes keeping Singapore running while the rest of us sleeps

About this Event

You might be fast asleep or up late on Netflix. As you rest and/or unwind, a whole workforce of graveyard shift workers disperses across the country to keep the island’s essential services running after dark.

In rubber boots, fishermen in kelongs off Changi, haul in the Republic’s supply of fresh fish for the day ahead while Lim Chu Kang’s vegetable farmers pack and distribute leafy greens for distribution islandwide - in time for your morning market run.

About After Hours @ My Changi

MCF2020 will take participants on a rare excursion to either of the two fish farms De Kelong and Ah Hua Kelong. De Kelong is owned by Goh Khoon Heng, the cousin of Ah Hua Kelong’s Teh Aik Hua. Participants will be walked through a day in the life of a local fish farmer and are guaranteed to be enraptured by the stories of both Mr Goh, and funny man Mr Teh who usually enjoys nursing a pint of beer while out at sea. The cousins are known for their ability to reel in large bounties of seafood ranging from red snappers to large groupers.
