About this event
Highlights:
- Discover some of Singapore's fascinating marine life on an intertidal walk
- Explore the shore and get up close and personal with its denizens
- Marvel at the bizarre creatures of a watery wonderland
Tour synopsis:
The waters around Singapore, contrary to popular belief, are still teeming with marine life. And every once in a while, their world becomes accessible for a few hours without scuba gear. A suitably low tide and a pair of booties is all you need to go hunting for creatures from another world. As the tide goes down, large seagrass meadows are exposed for a short period of time to allow landlubbers a peek at the marine life unveiled.
Don't miss this rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of Singapore's rich marine heritage that lies hidden from view most of the time. Wet feet guaranteed!
Recommended minimum age: 6 years
Please note:
Walk will be conducted in compliance with the prevailing Safe Management Measures published by the Singapore Tourism Board.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
This event is an outdoor activity subject to the whims of the elements. It may have to be shortened, delayed or aborted for safety reasons in case of inclement weather. No refund will be given in this case.
The intertidal area is not a playground, there's venomous and poisonous creatures, such a stonefishes, stingrays or jellyfishes around. Participants need to follow the guide at all times for their safety and also the safety of the animals.
Your feet will definitely get wet and we may have to wade through knee-deep water and across patches where the substrate is fairly soft.
For your own safety, only wear covered footwear for the intertidal walk. Strictly no sandals, flip-flops, or plastic bags wrapped around your shoes!
You can rinse off your shoes after the walk.
Further details on meeting point, attire, etc. will be emailed to you a day or two before the event.
