About this event
How do you go about opening a F&B outlet?
Made for first-timers, our 3-hour crash course will guide you through the essentials so you don't have to worry about the technicalities and focus on your business.
Some things we’ll discuss:
- The requirements to get your SFA Food Shop Licence
- Common mistakes that delay SFA approval
- Basics of getting Halal certified
- Government grants available for F&B
- Introduction to hiring foreign workers
Why did we create this course?
As a POS system provider, we meet new F&B businesses preparing to open their outlets on a daily basis. Too often, we hear about unexpected delays because they did not get their SFA (previously known as NEA) licence. Why does this happen? Mostly because the new F&B owners are unaware of certain regulations and specifications.
These delays can stretch from a few days to over a month, depending on what changes need to be made in order to pass the inspection. (For instance, % Arabica on Arab St had their shop opening delayed for a year!) Each day your outlet opening is delayed is a loss of revenue. If your estimated daily revenue is $1,500, in one month you would have lost $45,000.
The worst part is that this can be easily avoided – with education. That's why we started our bootcamp to address the process of applying and getting your SFA licence, along with other helpful info to start your F&B business on the right foot.
