Building Our Food Resilience with Science and Deep Tech [Online Event]

About this Event

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted global food supply chains and serves as a stark reminder of the importance of food security. Singapore imports over 90% of our food need from over 170 countries, and we are vulnerable to shifts in the global supply chain. The nation’s “30 by 30” goal – to produce 30% of its nutritional needs by 2030 – aims to strengthen our food resilience by developing urban agriculture and aquaculture, and pushing innovations in food science and technology. To ensure the sustainability of our food system, food consumption and waste management are also key pieces in building a circular food economy.

This panel brings together speakers from R&D and food industry players to discuss Singapore’s efforts in building our food resilience, and how science and Deep Tech can help to address the challenges in food management and sustainability.
