Now that the work’s over, it’s time for fun! But not just any type of fun. Check out ripplecreate’s year-end holiday camps to let your child discover a different type of enjoyment. The kind that involves computational thinking, involves experiential learning and promises lots of brain-stimulating fun!
What makes a robot work? There is something ingenious in every part of a robot’s operation, and even how it turns bears discussion. In this class, your child will learn the basics of what parts are in a robot, and how they all come together to create a single functional unit.
Using the mBot robotics educational platform, powered by an easy-to-use drag-and-drop graphical programming software mBlock (based on Scratch 2.0), your child will explore and write code allowing the robot to move, and to use its sensors to gather information from the world around it.
At the end of this course, your child will be able to better appreciate the intricacies of what makes a robot tick as well as the sort of thought processes required to instruct a robot to perform its tasks.
