About this event
On 15 December 1982, Colombia and Singapore established diplomatic relations. To celebrate this historic event, the Embassy of Colombia in association with the library@esplanade invites the Singaporean public to learn more about Colombian culture with a performance by the Colombian artist Maestro Álvaro Sánchez. Using the guitar and the tiple (a Colombian string instrument), he will take attendees on a one-hour musical journey through the traditional rhythms of all the regions of Colombia, as well as classical melodies from Singapore, demonstrating that music is a universal language that strengthens the ties of friendship between the nations and the peoples despite the distance or the cultural differences.
