About this Event

Depression, or feeling sad, is a normal emotion. But for some, the depression can become so severe that it dominates their lives and prevents them from coping as they used to. This is an illness that needs to be treated, and not something that can simply be willed away.

Hear from our psychiatrist as he explains what depression is, how it is diagnosed, and the treatments available. A Peer Support Specialist will also share her recovery journey and shed light on how you can support someone with depression, based on her first-hand experience.

Speakers: Dr Christopher Chan, Consultant, Department of Mood & Anxiety, IMH and Ms Jerlyn Tan, Peer Support Specialist, Department of Mood & Anxiety, IMH
