Description
How does a startup founder be both leader and manager to his team? Is the combination a recipe for disaster or can one navigate to safety?
The 17th instalment of Disrupt brings us up close and personal with the leadership and management challenges startups face as they try to run as fast as possible to gain traction, and attract talent and money.
Joining DNA founder Karamjit Singh on the panel for this month’s discussion are Azrul Rahim and Aaron Gill.
Azrul, cofounder of Slashes and Dots, cashed out of his JomSocial solution in 2012, selling it to US-based iJoomla after spending 10 years building up the business.
Today he is an active investor in startups and a partner in 8Capita, an early stage venture fund founded by Nic Lim, formerly of Catcha.com fame.
Meanwhile, Aaron’s role in GrabTaxi, is really as the defacto chief technology officer, and to most of the ecosystem in Malaysia, he is the face of GrabTaxi.
GrabTaxi, known as MyTeksi in Malaysia has been in the news and in most startup conversations around the region recently after attracting substantial Series A funding round.
So join us for what will be a revealing instalment of Disrupt, with founders and cofounders sharing their experiences, the good and bad of how they managed the early days of their startups and what advice they can impart.
DNA-TeAM Disrupt #17 will be held on Wednesday, April 23 at 5.30pm, Plug ‘N’ Play Technology Garden, Level 7, The Gardens South Tower, Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur.
