Event Information
About this Event
Edu2025 Policy Hackathon is Singapore's first education policy hackathon designed for educators and student leaders. This event is a follow-up to the SG Youth Action Plan, and is supported by the Ministry of Culture Community and Youth, as well as the Ministry of Education. Who we are looking for:
1) Educators who are interested in contributing ideas and solutions to our education system through targeted and unconventional methods
2) Student Leaders who are keen on picking up entrepreneurship skills while bettering our education system!
Dates and Time:
Day 1: 12 Dec 2020 (Sat), 10am - 5pm
Day 2: 19 Dec 2020 (Sat), 2.30pm - 5.30pm
Over this 2-day facilitated hackathon, participants will learn and apply the Google Design Sprint process to education programmes and policies. Participants will also be mentored by various youth social organisations (YSOs) who will showcase ground-up projects that youths are embarking on to inspire the participants to develop fresh ideas.
Through all the learning, you and your team will then get to share with us how you intend to revamp education policies to create an even more conducive learning environment for our future generations!
Best proposals will have a chance to get their suggestions submitted to MOE to enact real change. So join us if you have the passion to make an impact in our education landscape!
All participants will have to pay $20 upfront. However, do note that the $20 to be paid is only a deposit fee and will be fully refunded as long as the participant turns up for the full duration of the hackathon.
This policy hackathon will be organised and led by the Reactor Educator Network, a professional development network for educators who teach entrepreneurship, innovation, business and design.
Note: There is a limited capacity for this hackathon. Thus, deadline for sign-ups is 10 December 2020, 2359. In the event that the hackathon is oversubscribed, sign-ups who are not able to attend the hackathon will receive a full refund of the $20 paid.
