About the programme
What is empathy and why does it matter? This talk offers you a chance to pause and ponder on the meaning of empathy. Participants will learn how to differentiate empathy and sympathy, and pick up practical skills on how they can better extend compassion to themselves and to others.
About the speaker
Community Resource Engagement and Support Team (CREST) is a community-based programme that aims to serve as a community safety net to reach out to older persons at risk of/diagnosed with mental illness (e.g. depression/dementia). Through networking with community partners, CREST aims to address service gaps within the community for clients and their caregivers; and to ensure a continuum of care by supporting them in their basic emotional and mental health needs. We seek to promote early recognition of the signs and symptoms of depression and dementia, to encourage early diagnosis and intervention.
