Description

Climate Diplomacy Day seeks to highlight positive climate action around the globe, in collaboration with the EU and its Member States, and to encourage informed debate and a joint response to the climate challenge. 2015 is a defining year for climate change as a new global climate agreement will be negotiated at the UN negotiations in Paris in December (COP21). The business community plays a vital role in shaping economic development and the transition to a low carbon economy - the only way to secure sustainable economic growth and prosperity. This event will bring together the business community in Singapore to discuss the benefits of low carbon economic growth, the role that business and NGOs can play and the opportunities available to them, as well as the challenges they face

Exchange between Singapore and Europe on climate issues is one of many examples of their intense bilateral cooperation. A number of EU Member States recognised Singapore shortly after independence and thus celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations in 2015.

We warmly invite you to join this event to work towards a more sustainable and prosperous low-carbon future.
