“…when I became a man, I put away childish things.”

Serious Songs presents the fallen life of a man from childhood to the final years. Youthful innocence and optimism are inexorably ravaged by man’s quest for power and desire, leading to bitterness and regret. Death, the final curtain in the show of life, is but the great equaliser in the grand scheme of things.

Yet there remains one serious contradiction: is Love a power greater than Death itself, or is Love a transient folly that leads to regret and ruin?

Presented by baritones Daniel Fong and William Lim, and pianist Nicholas Loh, Serious Songs attempts to answer these questions.

Daniel Fong, baritone

William Lim, baritone

Nicholas Loh, piano
