FINDING STILLNESS IN THE URBAN JUNGLE - A WEEKEND OF MEDITATION IN SINGAPORE

This inaugural urban retreat with Fuyuko Toyota will focus on using meditation for Inner Wellbeing, Resilience & Welcoming Difficult Emotions.

Meditation is a practice that many of us find difficult to start and apply to our daily life. This weekend retreat will focus on a mixture of direct experience of practices as well as teachings simple, yet powerful tools, derived from an evidence-based iRest® Meditation. You will come away deeply relaxed & rejuvenated, and with useful tools for managing daily stress or powerful emotions in a safe and non-judgemental way.

ABOUT IREST MEDITATION

​iRest meditation is designed to bring the healing benefits of yogic and meditative practices to a wide variety of people. iRest can be practiced by anyone, regardless of whether you are a lifelong meditator or if you have never tried meditation before.

​By practicing iRest regularly - a little and often - you can tap into the parts of your brain that allow for greater insight and quiet the parts of the brain that are responsible for negative thoughts, feelings, and sensations. Using iRest, people learn to welcome life as it is happening and to respond - not react - to challenging situations.

​iRest can work to alleviate stress, help us sleep better, and heal unresolved issues and traumas. It can also allow us recognize an underlying peace of mind that is always present within us - no matter what circumstances we are facing in life.

SCHEDULE

Each day will start with a breathing practice, mindful movement and a meditation practice suitable for all levels of experience. Each afternoon will also include a mindful practice. Please bring your own yoga mat and a small pillow, blanket and eye cushion to make yourself comfortable as well as a notebook for journaling exercises.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

Using Meditation for Inner Wellbeing, Resilience & Welcoming Difficult Emotions

One of the most unique components of iRest is actually engaging with, rather than simply observing emotions. Being able to welcome whatever arises in a place of open curiosity and equanimity, is an art that will serve you throughout your life. The practices in this session will help you cultivate an unshakable foundation of resilience.

WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR?

Anybody is welcome to join this class. No meditation experience or knowledge is needed. You may find this workshop particularly useful if you have are working with powerful emotions. Or have found other meditation techniques difficult.

​Yoga teachers, therapists and psychologists with an interest in yoga therapy or using meditation techniques for trauma will find the workshop beneficial in gaining some basic knowledge of the iRest® protocol and trainings.

ABOUT YOUR TEACHERS

FUYUKO TOYOTA - AUSTRALIA

Fuyuko has been deeply in love with iRest® Meditation ever since discovering it in 2006. Studying and practicing iRest with Richard Miller over the past 14 years has helped her to heal her chronic depression born from PTSD. The iRest path led her to heal and rediscover her True Nature and Dharma = her true life purpose.

​Fuyuko now recognizes her true calling in helping others to heal misunderstanding and misperception, and for them to realize their inherent wholeness, just as she did.

As Director of iRest® Australasia, a Certified iRest Senior Trainer and a Senior Retreat Leader, and mentor & supervisor it is her heartfelt desire to bring and share the precious life-changing iRest teachings with people around the world, through trainings, Immersion, retreats and workshops.

​Since 1996 Fuyuko has been studying non-dual teachings and spirituality. She is a Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), a Senior Yoga Teacher (Yoga Australia), and a Meditation Teacher (Association of Meditation Australia).

​So I decided to find out more about the secret power of yoga nidra meditation and came across iRest which had clinical studies on the protocol's effectiveness.
