About the Programme:
Our perceptions of wildlife around us also affects our relationship with it. Join us as we dive into several local folktales that feature animals in Singapore, and chat about how people used to view animals such as the saltwater crocodiles as mysteries, threats, or guardians. We also debunk common misconceptions surrounding certain organisms in both the past and present, including those related to one of our favourite pastimes—eating!
This programme is part of the new series, Story Beings, which looks at the different types of stories, narratives and their importance, not just within, but also outside a book and in the different aspects of our everyday lives.
About the Speaker:
Lim Jia Xuan is an Education Officer with the Outreach and Education Unit (OEU) at the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum (LKCNHM). She conducts a wide variety of indoor and outdoor biodiversity education programmes for people of all ages.
