Gem Rendezvous event
Event Information
Description
Gem Rendezvous is our bi-monthly event to bring like-minded gem lovers (minerals included!) to come together and share about their passion and experiences. We have a main speaker for every rendezvous session to speak for about 20 minutes, followed by question & answers. The rest of the session shall be a time of networking.
In our last session, our main speaker was Ms. Brenda Kang, founder of Revival Vintage Jewels. She spoke on the topic of "Investing in Vintage Jewellery", sharing with us from her many years of experience working with Christie's and her own business. It was really informative and eye opening to know some trade secrets related to vintage jewellery pieces!
Our second speaker was Ms. Cathy Que, an avid independent collector and a student from Far East Gem Institute. Ms. Que shared on her diploma project - "Differentiating Spinels from Myanmar and Tanzania". She showcased some of her beautiful spinels collection during the event!
This 1 August session, Alexander Zupancich, the operation director of Jewellery Design & Management International School, Singapore (JDMIS) will be speaking on jewellery design using CAD. You may read up on Alex's profile here: http://jdmis.edu.sg/leadership/alex-zupancich-jewellery-school-operations-director.html
Mr. Tay Kunming, the co-founder of The Gem Museum and director of the Far East Gem Group will also be sharing on how the shape and cut of gemstones affects price and jewellery design.
This is a rare opportunity to connect with people of the same interest in gems and meet trade professionals to learn from them! Come joing us in our next Gem Rendezvous event.
