About the Programme/Event

Nature is all around us in the “Garden City” of Singapore. How can we draw inspiration from it and capture its colours and features through photography? Equipped with digital cameras and tips to shoot more interesting images, we will explore the neighbourhood, paying close attention to colours, textures, angles, shadows, and reflections.

Participants are to bring their own cameras that they are comfortable with; smartphones are suitable too. The workshop will start off at Jurong Regional Library before heading off for the photo walk.

About Objectifs

Established in 2003, Objectifs is a visual arts space in Singapore that is dedicated to film and photography.

Our goal is to cultivate original voices in visual storytelling, and to inspire and broaden perspectives through the power of images. We do this by presenting a year round programme of exhibitions, screenings, workshops, talks, mentorships and residencies, aimed at fostering dialogue about visual culture, and advancing the practice and appreciation of photography and film.

About the instructor

Matthew Ng is a photographer specialising in Commercial and Corporate Portraiture. He strives for emotional authenticity in every image he creates because he believes a good image either has to be real or believable.

By blending meticulous planning with a documentary approach on shoots, Matthew is able to capture genuine moments while achieving the technical requirements of a well-crafted photo. Nowadays, Matthew mostly shoots for advertising campaigns and image libraries. While primarily based in Singapore, he is ready to work around the world.
