Are you experiencing any recurrent pain in your body? The good news is that you can effectively manage chronic pain and symptoms through yoga practice.


Pain and tension in the body is a direct reflection of the actions we take in our lives. Tension accumulates at specific muscle and fascial layers in the human body, due to poor postural habits, sedentary lifestyles or repetitive physical activities, like jogging and even yoga. In a pursuit for strength and power in asanas, many modern yogis could unwittingly create excess tension in the body.


Let us release the tension we have accumulated over time in this masterclass led by Dr Bryan Lau and truly experience the deep therapeutic power of yoga — with the use of asanas, props and healing hands.


About the Trainer

Dr Bryan Lau (MB.CH.B, MSC in Sports Medicine and Health Science) is a Doctor of Sports Medicine Clinic in Hong Kong Sports Institute, on top of being a certified yoga instructor at Pure Yoga HK. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Faculty of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).


What will be covered?

- Functional Anatomy of Myofascia

- Understanding the nature of myofascial pain and non-myofascial pain

- Simple assessment methods for treatment of myofascial pain

- Major flaws and limitations of the human body in relation to our daily lives

- Hands-on practice with yoga asanas, props and trigger point release to alleviate common pains

Suitable for yoga teachers who are keen to apply myofascial tension relief techniques in your yoga teachings to benefit your students.
