This event is open to both HFESS members AND public.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO THE COMMUNITY

  • Can a wheelchair user travel in Singapore without any issue?

  • Are our pedestrian walkways friendly enough to the use of strollers?

  • Have you encountered other hazardous structural designs in your everyday life?

There are many areas in the living environment in Singapore that can be improved to avoid accidents or inconvenience and to make it more inclusive for the elderly and children.

Come join us in this fun-filled and meaningful half-day event to identify the gaps and propose ways to improve our living environment, such as the roads & footpaths, facilities in HDB estates, drains & sewers, parks & greenery, and construction sites!

We are also looking a student volunteers for the event. You will guide the participants around during the event, and also to assist in recording the issues captured by the participants.

DESCRIPTION

  • Everyone will meet at the designated Start Point.

  • All participants will be assigned to groups, each consisting of 4 - 5 members.

  • Each member of the group will be assigned with a user profile. These user profiles are characters that represents a variety of unique SG citizens. Examples of the user profiles are shown in the image below.

User Profile

  • The member will “wear the shoes” of the given user profile and walkthrough the journey within a designated vicinity.

  • The member will identify issues that the user profile may face during the journey.

  • Use the mobile app OneSerivce by Ministry of National Development to capture all these issues. All groups will meet up at the End Point to share the issues that have been identified.
