Hot Topics In Digestive Disease 2016 is the inaugural GP symposium for family physicians jointly organized by gutCARE Digestive·Liver·Endoscopy Associates and the College of Family Physicians Singapore. The aim of the symposium is to advance the knowledge and competence of Family Physicians on the latest topics trending in gastroenterology publications and the public’s search for information on digestive disorders. New studies have shown that PPIs may pose an increased risk for kidney disease in addition to cardiovascular drug interactions, osteoporosis risks, and links to C. difficile infections. The first blood-based screening test(Epi proColon) for colorectal cancer has also been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration this year. It is already available in Europe and some other countries. How would this affect your practice?
This course is designed for Primary Care (Family Medicine; Internal Medicine; Pediatrics) Physicians and allied health professionals.
At the conclusion of this CME activity, the learner should be better able to:

Recognize the role of screening and surveillance for colorectal cancer, understand the frequency and methods of screening for colorectal cancer and apply knowledge to help patients select a colorectal cancer screening method, given the risks and benefits.
