Description

We will have presentations by leaders in industry and academia regarding the role of data science in healthcare, followed by a fireside chat and audience Q&A.

This is an event for Young professionals (members/non-members) who want to use IEEE as a channel for employment in data science in the Healthcare space.

About the Speakers:

  • Dr Shourjya Sanyal is the co-founder and CEO of Think Biosolution, one of the top ten remote patient monitoring ODMs in the world. Shourjya has raised VC investments in US and EU, given TEDx talks and won multiple awards (Luminate in Rochester NY, Irish Laboratory Award 2018-19, Irish SME Business Awards 2018, Top 20 health and Medtech startup by Silicon Republic, Deloitte Top Technology Award 2016).

    Shourjya is a Forbes correspondent and routinely writes about the impact of data-science on health care. Shourjya is a mentor and Irish representative of Faster Capital a Dubai based seed fund. Shourjya also taught Data Science in Digital Skills Global, a subsidiary of Boston College in Ireland. Shourjya has a Ph.D. in computational physics from University College Dublin.

  • Dr Chandana Fitzgerald is the Chief Medical Officer at HealthXL, the leading global platform for digital health.collaboration.

  • Prof Deepu John is an Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University College Dublin

    He received the B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication engineering from University of Kerala, India, in 2002 and the M.Sc and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from National University Singapore, Singapore in 2008 and 2014 respectively. He is a recipient of Institution of Engineers Singapore Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award (2011), Best design award at Asian Solid State Circuit Conference (2013), IEEE Young Professionals, Region 10 individual award (2013). He served as a member of technical program committee for IEEE conferences TENCON 2009, ASICON 2015, TENCON 2016. He is a reviewer of several IEEE journals and conferences and serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Circuits and Systems. His research interests include low power biomedical circuit design, energy efficient signal processing and wearable healthcare devices. He is a senior member of the IEEE.
