Description
Nexus and The Gold Standard Foundation will host the inaugural Innovative Finance for Sustainable Development Conference (IFSD) focused on measuring and valuing co-benefits at the National Library in Singapore on November 11 and 12, 2014.
The two-day interactive conference, sponsored by the blue moon fund, will gather investors, donors, business and non-profit leaders to explore how innovative and powerful finance mechanisms, such as results-based finance (RBF), can support climate and development projects.
IFSD is a platform to advance and facilitate multi-stakeholder discussions on these innovative financing opportunities.
The agenda is now available, please click here.
“Results-based finance offers a promising opportunity to significantly scale-up investments for climate friendly development projects,” says Marion Verles, Executive Director for Nexus. “As a cooperative of development practitioners, we have designed the IFSD conference in such a way to spark discussions on everything from measuring and valuing co-benefits to the issues concerned with effective financing.”
The conference will include panel discussions, project presentations and networking sessions on topics such as:
# Finance for climate and development: What is working? Where are the gaps?
# How will a results-based approach work and why is it appealing to investors?
# How can you value benefits beyond carbon?
# Why is measuring, reporting and verifying the impacts important for success?
# Who finances what and when?
# Can results-based finance tackle the challenges of communicating sustainability?
# Matching of public/private sector interests and project developer offerings: What are the opportunities and challenges? How are the risks determined and allocated?
