About the Programme/Event
What is IoT? This session will give you an overview of how these devices exchange information between them and transmit data to other devices and systems. It can be about objects to which they are attached or the environment they are in. Everything you need to know about the Internet of Things. Participants will learn how to make use of existing technology to control your devices.
This programme is a collaboration between Republic Polytechnic and National Library Board.
About the Speaker
Tan Wee Siong holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science (Mathematics) from National University of Singapore and a Master’s degree in Business (IT) from Curtin University of Technology. Currently, he is the Conexus Manager for the Internet of Things (IoT) Solution Centre at Republic Polytechnic and teaches in the area of IoT.
Mr Ang Ban Liong is the MD of Telestation Infocomm Pte Ltd & AI SmartHome Interior Design Pte Ltd. The companies provide One Stop Service AI SmartHome Solution including Interior Design, Renovation, Supply, Delivery, Installation, Configuration and After Sales Service. Mr Ang strives to make every home smart and smarter with AI Voice Control.
Telestation focuses on retailing and setting up AI SmartHome showrooms at shopping malls for customers to experience the AI SmartHome with Voice Control. AI SmartHome ID focuses on design, engineering and implementation of the AI SmartHome for customers.
AI SmartHome Solution employs the latest technologies in IoT (Internet of Things), wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, Z-Wave, 433), AI Voice Control (Google Assistant, Alexa, Siri). AI SmartHome Solution integrates different devices & appliances and Apps from different brands and works seamlessly as one and controlled by voice over-and-above the Apps on PC & mobile and remote controls. A wide range of devices and appliances can be integrated into ONE SmartHome Solution such as TV, Soundbar, Speakers and Home Entertainment System.
Mr Ang graduated in 1982 with the Bachelor of Engineering with a major in Telecommunication and Electronics Engineering from National University of Singapore. He is also holding the Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management from the Singapore Institute of Management.
Mr Ang ventured into business in 1993 after 11 years of working experiences in telecommunications and information communication technologies including a Development & Project Engineer in SingTel, Lecturer in Singapore Polytechnics, Sales & Marketing Manager of Telecom Equipment (SingTel’ subsidiary).
