Do you know that when a cardiac arrest occurs, you only have about 4 minutes to react before brain damage occurs?

Do you know that a blocked airway can kill someone in three to four minutes, but it can take more than eight minutes for an ambulance to arrive? So a simple procedure such as opening someone's airway can save their life whilst waiting for emergency help to arrive.

Medical emergencies can strike anyone, anytime and anywhere. If a patient does not receive basic first aid care immediately, the medical situation may deteriorate- often rapidly. Giving appropriate first aid immediately can help to reduce a person’s recovery time and also make the difference between the patient having a temporary or long term disability.

That is why it is very important for us to learn First Aid (as an individual or organization & for personal or professional reasons) so that we can render assistance, comfort, and support to those in need before medical assistance arrives.
