Presentation title:

1) Fat-Loss Theory & Application

2) Coaching the Powerlifting Athlete

Presentation Description:

1) Theoretical knowledge is useless without an awareness of how to apply it. In the same vein, action without an understanding of the underlying theory is at best hopeful randomness. Neither of these is optimal, and it must be understood that theory and application go hand-in-hand. That is what this presentation is about, understanding all of what needs to be understood in order to generate safe, efficient and sustainable fat-loss, whether it be for yourself or clients. Far too often dedicated coaches and trainees are distracted by the latest fads and faulty methods. Lyndon's goal is to make this no more. This presentation aims to cut through the noise and shed light on the key areas that must be focused on when it comes to achieving top-quality fat-loss results.

2) Many sports and the coaching of them are plagued by dogma and traditionalist approaches. Powerlifting is no exception. While almost every coach and athlete has their favourite methodologies, in this presentation Lyndon will look at the underlying physiology and how that informs the principles of preparation and performance, specifically in the context of powerlifting. When you understand the physiology and principles, you can drive the required adaptations and thus performance, through a multitude of methods. This lecture will allow you to understand the fundamental concepts that all intelligent powerlifting training & nutrition abides by, and will give you the skills to strategically design plans for yourself or your athlete.

Biography: Martin is a post-graduate student, evidence-based coach and university level teacher with an intense passion for the fitness industry and the science behind training and nutrition. He has 5 years of coaching experience that is accompanied with athletic experience and continual education through academia. His areas of expertise include human physiology, muscle hypertrophy and nutrition for body composition – enabling him to work effectively with individuals who have physique related or competitive bodybuilding goals. Two of his core values include ‘self-development’ and ‘delivering education’ – he is committed to continually learning and educating other coaches and exercise science students wanting to excel in the industry.

Presentation title:

1) Nutrition Strategies & Diet Periodisation for Fat Loss

2) Coaching the Bodybuilding Athlete

Presentation Description:

1) This is not your ordinary calories in vs. calories out seminar…This presentation will cover nutrition strategies and diet periodisation to accelerate fat loss and maintain/build lean mass in a sustainable manner. Whilst traditional nutrition practices incorporate continuous caloric restriction and distinct phases of ‘bulking’ and ‘cutting’, they have often left many individuals spinning their wheels and for reasons explained in this seminar may not be an optimal approach for physique athletes or individuals looking to improve their body composition. In this lecture, you will learn how to strategically plan dieting phases over various time scales, how to incorporate advanced methods such as refeeds and diet breaks and how to make necessary adjustments during extended fat loss diets to maximise results. The importance of macronutrients for fat loss and muscle mass maintenance will also be covered, along with micronutrients and supplementation! The complete evidence-based nutrition seminar for anyone aiming to get lean!

2) The sport of competitive bodybuilding has seen a drastic rise in popularity over recent years, with more and more individuals stepping outside of their comfort zone and taking on the challenge of competing. This is great for the sport, however, also means that many are entering the sport prematurely – not knowing what they are signing themselves up for and without the requisite skills needed to be successful throughout a competition prep. Accompanying this is bodybuilding dogma that has been passed down over the years, with many coaches still implementing old-school strategies that have the potential to be detrimental to their athletes health and have no physiological underpinning. In this lecture, Martin will present an evidence-based overview of the competition preparation period, discussing physiology and key principles, training and nutrition strategies, peaking strategies and much more. Martin’s goal is to arm the audience with enough knowledge to filter through industry BS and ensure optimal competition preparation results are achieved.

Limited early bird ticket prices are available now at $99 SGD, and general admission will be $149 SGD.
