Event description
Friends of the Museums together with the Malay Heritage Foundation walking tour of Kampong Gelam historic precinct.

About this event

Please note this is an outdoor walking tour* so wear comfortable shoes, bring water and an umbrella for rain or sunshine.

**COVID-19 update** - The well-being of our visitors, staff and volunteer guides remains our primary concern. Tours are limited to 10 visitors in 2 groups of 5 each. For your safety, safe management measures will be implemented during the tour. These include:

• The use of SafeEntry upon entry and exit

• Safe-distancing of at least one metre at all times

• Wearing of mask at all times

Our Volunteer guides reserve the right to deny entry to any visitor(s) not donning a face mask, showing signs of illness or having a temperature of 38.0ºC and above. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Tours are subject to cancellation based on Covid-19 precautionary measures. Participants will be informed of any tour cancellation at least 4 hours prior to the tour date. We thank you to arrive 10 minutes before tour commences.

FOM is a volunteer, non-profit society devoted to offering guiding services and financial support to Singapore’s museums and cultural institutions and to delivering programmes to enhance the community’s knowledge of Asia’s history, culture and art.

MHF was incorporated in Singapore on 28 July 1999 as a company limited by guarantee without a share capital. It is also a non-profit organisation,withe objectives of:

  • To promote the study and research
  • To promote the public's understanding and knowledge of the historical and socio-cultural developments of the Malay community in Singapore
