Event Details

Dear colleagues,

CENTRES is delighted to announce the launch of its Research Ethics Blended Course. The course consists of several modules, and we will be providing you with further information about the whole course in the near future. The course consists of online content and face-to-face sessions.

We will present didactic material in the online content, and focus on case-based discussions in the face-to-face sessions. Therefore, you are strongly encouraged to complete the online content before attending the face-to-face sessions. The online content will take you between 40 to 60 minutes to complete.

The online content has three parts:

  • An introductory module, which we recommend you take if you are new to research ethics
  • A module on consent and confidentiality
  • A module on risks, benefits, conflicts of interest, and matters of justice.

The face-to-face practicum will consist of a review of a mock protocol and consent form. This exercise will enable you to gain a practical understanding of some of the core ethical issues that may arise when reviewing studies. Interactions and discussions with peers from different backgrounds and with different perspectives will enhance your ability to engage in meaningful ethics review.
