About this Event

VIRTUAL RUN TO END VIOLENCE

Violence is impacting our communities in Singapore. A recent survey by The Strait Times found that 3 out 10 have experienced family violence and almost half didn't know what to do if affected by violence, or how to get help for a victim of violence.

We hope to change this.

Footsteps To Inspire - Let Our Voice Run is a special virtual run and week-long campaign during 16 days of Activism to strengthen our communities, raise awareness and build connectedness through listening to voices affected by violence - with a particular focus on sexual violence.

Join us on 6 December for this virtual run in Singapore and help our local partner LCCS provide restorative healing to survivors of violence and our communities.

You are warmly invited to also join our awareness events during this week-long campaign. If you are a survivor, you will find a safe space to be heard. If you are a concerned citizen, you will find tools and resources to help those affected by violence.

HOW IT WORKS

  • WHO: You! Everyone is invited to participate.
  • WHAT: Purchase a race entry for $25 and add on a limited edition t-shirt for $15. Pledge your # of kilometres between 5km and 16km, and then complete them on race day. Footsteps To Inspire - Let Our Voice Run is inclusive; participate at your own pace and you can choose to run, walk, bike, swim, or any other sport that accumulates distance.
  • RACE PACK: Your race pack, along with your limited edition t-shirt (if you added this), race badge, participation certificate and other goodies, will be available for pick up at LCCS in Singapore the week before our campaign starts. We will email you details closer to the time with info for pick up.
  • WHERE: This is a virtual event. This means you complete your kilometres wherever you want while adhering to safe distancing measures. We will be sharing a variety of running routes in the lead up to the virtual run, so remember to leave your email address.
  • WHEN: On Sunday, 6 December, 2020. Kilometres can be recorded up until 6pm. You are warmly invited to also join our awareness events during 30 November to 5 December (info below).
  • HOW: For the virtual run, you will receive an invitation to join the Footsteps To Inspire - Let Our Voice Run Strava club. You can log your kilometres in our Strava club on race day. Post your photos and videos to social media using the hashtags: #FootstepsToInspire #LetOurVoiceRun
  • WHY: Violence, especially sexual violence, are difficult issues to talk about and, because of this, people don't know how to get help and our communities are being impacted. We can change this but we need your support to do it. By joining the virtual run and week-long campaign, you will directly help individuals and communities recover from violence and find ways to end it.
  • DONATE: If you would like to make a donation to support our series of activities and enjoy tax deductions, please see below. All funds raised from this campaign will go towards restorative programs helping survivors of violence and our communities.
