SPEAKERS:

ALEX CAPRI, Senior Fellow, NUS Business School

Alex Capri is a Senior Fellow and full‐time lecturer in the Business School at the National University of Singapore. Alex also lectures in the NUS Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy.

From 2007‐2012, Alex was the Partner and Regional Leader of KPMG’s International Trade & Customs Practice in Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong.

Alex has over 20 years of experience in global value chains, logistics and international trade‐‐ both as an academic and a professional consultant. He has advised clients on cross‐border projects in more than 40 countries and he has worked in some of the most challenging regulatory environments in the world.

He has worked extensively in emerging economies on projects involving micro and small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly with the aim of developing and enabling entrepreneurs in local export markets (both products and services). Alex has assisted MSMEs with mobile financial services, peer‐to‐peer lending scenarios, AI and e‐commerce strategies. His work with MSMEs includes:

• Skills building re: digital platforms, e‐logistics and digital collaborative networks
• Assisting MSMEs with Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and cross‐border trade
• Alex has been a panellist and workshop leader for the World Economic Forum, on the topic of inclusive capitalism and SMEs in emerging economies.

Alex writes a column for Forbes magazine and is a frequent guest on global television and radio networks, including BBC International, CNBC, Bloomberg and Channel News Asia.

He holds a M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, in International Political Economy. He holds a B.Sc. in International Relations, from the University of Southern California.

CAS BRENTJENS, Vice President, Infor Nexus for Asia Pacific & Japan

As Infor's Vice President for Infor Nexus for Asia Pacific & Japan, Cas is working with supply chain innovators on their digital transformation journey, applying the power of Supply Chain Business Networks.

With a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, and an operational background in Hewlett-Packard’s High-Tech supply chain, he has been involved in numerous global transformations and operational excellence projects for enterprises in industries like Global Logistics, Food & Beverage, Electronics, Automotive, and Retail. He enjoys working with companies on transformational projects to outpace digital disruption and unlock digital growth opportunities.

All by applying concepts in supply chain planning, collaboration & optimisation, machine learning and AI, to create actionable insights.

Based in Singapore, Cas has worked extensively in the Asia Pacific region. When not working, you can find him mountain biking on the trails in Singapore or ski-mountaineering on a remote mountain range. He is currently preparing for crossing Iceland on a mountain bike.

KIAN SIN NG, Global Head of Innovations, Kuehne and Nagel

Kian Sin is the currently the global head of innovations for Kuehne and Nagel. He leads the global innovation team and manages 2 innovation centres in Singapore and Europe. His team is responsible for exploring, identifying and adapting new technologies for the operations. Currently, the team is busy with technologies such collaborative robots, IOT, big data and AI.

Based in Singapore, he has over 20 years of supply chain experience in Europe/Asia Pacific and US.
