Event description
Every day, during classes, in the canteen and in the playground, there are teachable moments.

About this Event

“Life is for learning our lessons.” - Tlingit Elder

Every day, during classes, in the canteen and in the playground, there are teachable moments. These are moments in which students can be helped to master their virtues and to understand the meaning of what they are learning, what they are doing and how they are interacting with others.

In this workshop, we will discuss strategies for viewing life as an opportunity for learning. Students do not need special classes on character. In fact, it is best if most of their lessons on character occurs within the context of daily learning and living. We will learn how to use teachable moments in and out of the classroom, teaching students to be kind, caring and respectful members of society.
