The Mini Apprenticeship Program
Duration : 25 hours, at 5 hours per session
Description :
Unlike our Introduction to Lost Wax Casting Course, the Mini Apprenticeship Programs goes more in depth, explaining the basics and definitely going into depth, revealing trade industry secrets into how to always get a great cast.
The Program will be broken into a few main segments, mainly:
Getting the master model
At the start of every manufacturing process is the master model, the very first model we start off with. Learn 3D modelling techniques, 3D printing, or if 3D is not your cup of tea, get your hands wet at wax carving.
The mould
At the second stage of the process is mould making, learn between the different types of rubbers, how to properly pack a mould, vulcanize, then cut.
Wax injection
Then follows wax injection, with the freshly cut mould, molten wax is then injected into the mould cavity, giving us wax patterns, allowing for fast duplication on what we call a wax tree.
Investing
No, no money involved. Once the wax patterns are injected and sprued on a tree, comes the investing process, how to properly sprue, flask up and after achieving the optimal burnout will be taught.
Final finishing
Technique used for mass polishing will be explained in detail, the types of tumblers to use, medias, and cycles. Traditional buffing and its secrets will be debunked, along with how to achieve the perfect mirror polish.
