Learn these skills in our Mindfulness Foundation Course.

NOTE: As of 8 June 2017, all use of SkillsFuture credit will require sign up in person at Brahm Centre. (Please bring along NRIC and Singpass ID & Password)

In this 4-session course, you will learn and practise mind-body skills to help you cope with stress to bring about:

  • Balance

  • Stability

  • Well-being

This course is conducted by experienced mindfulness trainers.

You will be meditating while sitting on a chair.

Suitable for adults and teenagers 16 and above.

Brahm Centre is honoured to be selected by Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School to be their mindfulness research partner. You can be part of it and receive up to $60!

All you need to do is to sign up and you must be willing to attend the Mindfulness Foundation Course in either July (4/7, 11/7, 18/7, 25/7) or August (1/8, 8/8, 15/8, 22/8), as well as, the other dates for the study sessions listed below!

Limited to 20 per course. National Silver Academy subsidy and SkillsFuture Credit can still be applied. (If you wish to sign up for this study and use your SkillsFuture credit, please register in person at Brahm Centre and bring along your NRIC, and Singpass ID and password.) Sign-up for this study closes on 15th June 2017, 8pm.



Who can participate in this study?

  • Between 16 and 75 years of age
  • Have no history of sleep disorders or alcohol abuse
  • Must not be using long-term medication for sleeping
  • Must not currently be engaged in shift work
  • Must not have crossed more than 2 international time zones in the past 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the study to the end of the study period


What will I be asked to do?

  • You will be randomised into either the July or August intake of the Mindfulness Foundation Course.
  • Regardless of whether you are in the July or August intake, you will have to attend the first study session at Duke-NUS Medical School (8 College Road).
    • In the first study session, you will perform a computerised task and complete a set of questionnaires.
    • You will receive the Actiwatch to wear for a week till the start of the Mindfulness Foundation Course, for the purposes of monitoring your sleep quality.
    • Choice of Dates for First Study Session
      • 21st or 22nd June 2017
      • 3pm or 7pm
  • If you are assigned to the July intake of the Mindfulness Foundation Course:
    • You will attend the 4 sessions of the Mindfulness Foundation Course at Brahm Centre, where you will return the Actiwatch on the 1st session (4th July), and collect the Actiwatch on the 4th session (25th July) to wear for a week.
    • You will attend the second study session at Duke-NUS Medical School one week after the course and return the Actiwatch, as well as, to perform a computerised task and complete a set of questionnaires.
    • Choice of Dates for Second Study Session
      • 2nd or 3rd August 2017
      • 3pm or 7pm
  • If you are assigned to the August intake of the Mindfulness Foundation Course:
    • You will need to return the Actiwatch at Duke- NUS Medical School on either 28th or 29th June 2017
    • You will attend the second study session at Duke-NUS Medical School to collect the Actiwatch to wear for a week, as well as, to perform a computerised task and complete a set of questionnaires.
      • Choice of Dates for Second Study Session
        • 24th or 25th July 2017
        • 3pm or 7pm
    • Lastly, you will return the Actiwatch on the first session of the Mindfulness Foundation Course on 1st Aug at Brahm Centre.

- If you would like to use your SkillsFuture credit towards this course, please sign up for this course in person at Brahm Centre and bring along your NRIC and Singpass ID & password.
- You will be required to pay any outstanding course fee upon registration.


* National Silver Academy (NSA) subsidy
- The NSA subsidy is for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents aged 50 and above on 31 December 2017
- (If you would like to use your SkillsFuture credit to pay the balance after NSA subsidy, please sign up for this course in person at Brahm Centre and bring along your NRIC and Singpass ID & password.)
- Arrive 30 minutes before class starts to complete the application process.
- Produce proof of NRIC (a copy will be retained for our records) on first day of class.
- Sign the consent of use of personal data by C3A and relevant partners on the first day of class.
- Participants who do not fulfill the above criteria will not be eligible for NSA funding and will be required to pay the course fee in full; no refunds will be provided.
