Event description

Description

Every community has a story to tell. Through heritage walks, community festivals and place-making programmes, we wish to narrate the endearing story of the common man, celebrate the little things which makes the neighbourhood special and reconnect individuals to the social networks in the community.

And yes, we are recruiting volunteers!

We are looking to recruit passionate and committed individuals who can help in the following areas:

  • Research about old places in archives and libraries.
  • Photograph and videograph vanishing places.
  • Collecting old photographs, conducting oral history interviews and documenting stories in three of the oldest communities in Singapore (Queenstown, Bukit Merah and Tiong Bahru).
  • Write/Copyedit research papers, tour brochures and other collateral for our programmes.
  • Conduct community arts and heritage tours in Tanglin Halt, Alexandra, Tiong Bahru, Redhill and Holland Village. We are launching new tours in Dawson, Radin Mas, Telok Blangah and Sentosa in the coming year.
  • Organise place-making programmes as an arts/cultural manager or artist.
  • Volunteer in our upcoming Museum@My Queenstown as a museum guide, ambassador, curator, exhibition designer or programmer.
  • Engage our volunteers and take care of our welfare
  • As a business development volunteer to expand revenue streams.
  • Help in administrative work (finance, fundraising, secretarial positions, etc)
