About this event

This programme is part of Yale-NUS' Diversity Week 2020.

Naked is a monologue that revolves around the issues of a bipolar disorder patient. Based on a true story, this is a journey of a well-educated, strong willed lady who suffered from depression after she found out about her husband's infidelity. The impact was devastating though she had no awareness of her manic and depressive state until she was taken to the Institute of Mental Health Singapore (IMH). 19 years on and still diagnosed with Bipolar disorder, she hopes to share her life story to create awareness as well as giving an insight of what a bipolar patient is going through. Naked is collaboration work with Yohanna Abdullah (writer) and Dr Radiah Salim from Club Heal.

There will be a post-show dialogue with DOS Wellness.

*Doors open at 7:30pm. The performance will start promptly at 8pm.

About Teater Kami:

Teater KAMi was founded on 5th June 1989 by a group of enthusiastic young theatre practitioners who realised at a very early stage that theatre, as an art form, is one of the most effective tools for education and social awareness towards a better life.Teater KAMi firmly believes theatre, as a form of artistic practice, can and should be a platform for producing productions that are educationally based in the context of cultural and real life education.Teater KAMi aims to develop a well rounded theatre activist, giving equal attention to the discipline and ‘internal’ techniques of relaxation, focus, emotional engagement and the most important of all, imagination, together with the ‘external’ discipline of speech, voice and movement essential both in performance and real life communication.
