Event description

Description

Are you a fan of recycling and upcycling, and looking after our Mother Gaia? Are you interested in unique jewellery pieces that attract attention? Have you been victim of the coffee pod revolution and now have excessive numbers of pods for recycling? Then join our workshop to learn how to make a difference in our world and create unique colourful pendants, earrings and brooches from used Nespresso Capsules!

On 29 July, we will have our first Nespresso Jewellery Workshop to continue with the coffee series which the Guardians of Mother Earth is running.

During the workshop, you will be guided step-by-step through a series of techniques to create your very own decorative pieces. Once these skills have been covered, you can adapt and create as many items in the variety of colours and combinations that the pods come in. These skills can transfer to a business venture if you enjoy the creative process. Many items are resolved to professional looking fine crafted pieces.

These techniques are for adults and older children. Young children from the age of 10 may join and make their own creations. Attention to detail and geometric symmetry as key skills to produce fine pieces. The workshop will outline approaches to assist in developing these skills.

The price of SGD 50 includes a cup of Nespresso coffee! More coffee can be purchased throughout the workshop, but plenty of pods will be available for making the jewellery.

All tools and equipment will be provided, but if you have a colourful Nespresso pod which you want to transform, bring it along and we can show you how to prepare the pod for this activity. Pliers, beads, earring hooks and pins are all included.
