Event description
Retreat from busy life, and join this half-day reflective workshop with Dr. Alan Wallace.

About this event

We are pleased to announce that Dr Alan Wallace’s half-day online workshop is rescheduled on 19 June 2021 8:00am-12:00pm.

The global pandemic has forced us to temporarily withdraw from the full range of our daily social engagements so that we have had more time to look within and explore our inner resources for mental resilience. As this medical crisis hopefully subsides over the course of this year, it is time to reflect on the impact of modern life on the ecosphere and to gain a deeper understanding of our minds and our ideals of the good life. During this one-day seminar, Dr. B. Alan Wallace will discuss ways of viewing reality that undermine human civilization and ways that may help humanity evolve to a higher degree of psychological maturity. Training in mindfulness and refined attention are crucial to this endeavor as is the cultivation of loving-kindness for ourselves and all those around us. These will be the central themes of Dr. Wallace’s lectures and guided meditations.

About the speaker:

Dr. B. Alan Wallace is a foremost expert on mindfulness. A scholar and practitioner of Buddhism since 1970 - has taught Buddhist theory and meditation worldwide since 1976. Having devoted fourteen years to training as a Tibetan Buddhist monk, ordained by H.H. the Dalai Lama, he went on to earn an undergraduate degree in physics and the philosophy of science at Amherst College and a doctorate in religious studies at Stanford.
