Overcoming Depression Scientific Understanding & Possible Solutions to a Growing Pandemic

About this event

TALK SYNOPSIS

Depression has become a widespread pandemic affecting people of all ages. In fact, a form of depression seems to attack everyone of us at some point in our lives, sometimes even more than once. Dr Daniel will approach the subject by helping us understand how the human brain works and why depression can occur when it does. He will lead us through a discussion on how we can deal with depression from both medical & general wellness perspectives, and how we can also tap on various strategies & self-help techniques to help us: 1) support someone who is in depression, 2) avoid depression, 3) reduce the impact of depression, and 4) come out of depression, where possible. Dr Daniel will also reveal several fascinating discoveries made by top scientists & synthesize for us how some of these may hint towards expanding our current repertoire of how we can support those with depression more effectively.
