Parenting without a support network and knowledge can be exasperating and lonely. The aim of this parenting book club is to share alternative perspectives and learn up-to-date ideas in parenting our children. We will read together, have an open dialogue and take home some tips, so that we can better support our children and grow together as a strong and healthy family.
Book title: The Yes Brain: How to Cultivate Courage, Curiosity, and Resilience in Your Child
Authors: Daniel J. Siegel, Tina Payne Bryson
Synopsis: As parents, our role is to provide deep empathy and stay connected with our children during challenging moments in their life. We can hold space for them to experience life, allow them to feel and be active participants in problem solving, as well as to discover the depth of their capacity and strength. Together, we will read this book and find out more about "The Yes Brain", and consider helping our children develop it, nurturing the four key characteristics of balance, resilience, insight and empathy in them.
