About the programme
Lighting is a powerful tool that if designed thoughtfully, lends a narrative quality to an image. Join concept artist Calvin Chua as he takes you on a journey to light a scene; see how he sets the general tone and mood with lighting design, and delve deeper into specific areas to highlight its narrative. Will the closed door in the scene remind us of beautiful memories or a painful past? Let Calvin shine a light on how lighting can manipulate a story in this session!
About the speaker
Calvin Chua (@stormbrush) is a concept artist and illustrator who is obsessed with traumatic horror films (Alien left a lasting impression as a child). He believes that great art should tell stories, evoke emotion, and express movement. Calvin has collaborated with amazing indie writers, filmmakers, and artists on titles such as Star Wars, 20th Century Fox Alien Anthologies, Warhammer, and Legend of the Five Rings from Fantasy Flight Games.
