Description
The Light Surgeons are an internationally renowned company pioneering new approaches to ‘live cinema’ performances and immersive multi-media events. Using custom software, intricately designed screen spaces and explosive soundscapes, their cross-disciplinary practices have won widespread acclaim.
The evening begins with a public lecture by The Light Surgeons’ founder and director, Christopher Thomas Allen, and is followed by Super Everything, an extraordinary live cinema performance by Allen, Tim Cowie and Ng Char Guan. A multiple-screen immersive documentary ‘poem’ about the landscape, rituals and ecology of Malaysia, Super Everything was recently presented by the Barbican in London.
As a leader in contemporary arts in Asia, LASALLE College of the Arts is pleased to provide this exciting opportunity for the public, artists, educators, and students in Singapore to gain an insight into Light Surgeons' new forms of cross-disciplinary practice through the fusion of film production, animation, motion design, and the application of creative code and cutting edge tools.
