Resilience Workshop 11:00 – 12:30

The world we live in is different from the world our grandparents have experienced. In our world, it is often said that change is the only constant. If this is so, how does one cope with rapid changes powerfully in many areas of our lives? How does one deal with the various critical life transition periods and emerge with minimal negative impact? How does one deal effectively with unexpected circumstances that come our way? Resilience comes into play during times like these. Though complex and unique to individuals, resilience is a skill that can be learned, build upon and used throughout one’s lifetime for life’s challenges.

In this workshop, learn how to build resilience by:

  1. Being aware of the many interfaces resilience has in daily life

  2. Understand how to control our perceptions and consequent negative emotions

  3. Improve stress coping strategies and the quality of decision-making when under stress

Positive Reframing Workshop 12:45 – 2:15

Positive reframing has always been taught as a psychotherapy approach for personal development purposes. In this workshop, participants will be exposed to different techniques in reframing perceptions to positive ones. Positive guided imagery techniques including creative visualization will be taught and demonstrated.

In this workshop, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify self-limiting thinking habits

  2. Utilise unconscious strengths to overcome negative thinking

  3. Develop a personal mental framework for building mental resilience

Positive Relationship Workshop 2:30 – 4:00

This workshop is to facilitate the discussion on what is a positive and flourishing relationship and why is it important for couples especially parents to cultivate the habits of positive emotions in order to build greater resilience.

In this workshop, learners will be able to:

  1. List the criteria for a positive relationship and know how it looks like

  2. Understand what are positive emotions

  3. Cultivating resilience in relationship

Positive Communication Workshop 4:15 – 5:45

Communication is the crucial, fundamental component of lasting joy and success for anyone. The quality of our conversations has a significant impact on our lives, especially so on the relationships we build, both personal and professional levels. In most instances, most people would tend to focus on emphasizing, if not overemphasizing, on what is wrong instead of being attentive to what is right. Such a focus often lead us to embed in a negative tone, whether we communicate inwardly ((i.e., self-talk) or outwardly. And if left unchecked, our negative communication has the potential to cause us emotional, mental and physical harm. Essentially, does Positive Communication have tangible effects and benefits on our health, wellness and our relationships?

In this workshop, learners will be able to:

  1. Adopt a “what is right” orientation to communicate to impact more positively

  2. What could I say to engage and inspire someone effectively – instilling the feelings of hope, love, joy and vitality

  3. How do we positively communicate that allows us to thrive in the full spectrum of life experiences
