Event description

Description

The intention of this event is to bring together a community of like-minded individuals to connect and learn with each other as well as celebrate our authentic beauty. In collaboration with Vibrant Body Company we will create an atmosphere of home and togetherness for you to feel loved, seen and cared for. Come as you are, participate in engaging conversations with a panel of role models and fashion industry professionals, open heartedly connect with the community, dance, get inspired and embark on a sound healing journey. The event is organized by Mindful Models, a social movement on a mission to bring mindfulness into the fashion, modeling and entertainment industries through a holistic approach to wellbeing.

Soul Talk Panel

Authentic beauty is a concept lodged in our hearts and minds and seldom articulated in popular culture or affirmed in the mass media. As such, it remains unrealized and unclaimed. This idea of beauty appears to have been replaced by a narrower definition that is largely located in limited ideals of physical appearance. It appears that the word “beauty” has – in many ways – become functionally defined as “physical attractiveness.” This definition of beauty is powerfully communicated through the mass media and has been assimilated through popular culture. It is this ideal that many of us measure ourselves against and aspire to attain. However, because this ideal is extremely difficult to achieve, we find it difficult to think of oureselves as beautiful. This can contribute to unhappiness and low self-esteem and self-worth – especially among those people (often younger) who are more likely to take their cues from popular culture.

It is time to reclaim our authentic beauty. To see and accept ourselves for who we truly are. To embrace our charisma, our unique personality. To fall in love with our body (no matter what shape!). To fully embody our sensuality. To enhance our confidence and self-esteem. To get clear about our values that enable us to create authentic relationships with ourselves and people around us.
