Event Information
Description
The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) Singapore branch invites you to a screening and lecture about the new documentary “Let Elephants Be Elephants”, by TV personality Nadya Hutagalung and elephant expert and author Dr Tammie Matson, co-founders of the Let Elephants Be Elephants campaign.
Join us for an inspiring journey into the world of elephants. Conservationist and best-selling author Dr Tammie Matson, and regional TV personality Nadya Hutagalung will take us into the wilds of Africa and the back alleys of Asia's big cities to discover the connection between Africa’s escalating poaching crisis and the growing demand for ivory in Asia. Tammie and Nadya are taking on the black markets of Asia determined to make a difference and break the chains of the ivory trade and rhino-horn poaching.
The documentary features incredible insights from those fighting to save the last of Africa’s elephants, from world famous elephant researchers to courageous anti-poaching rangers. The film-makers bust the myths about where ivory comes from and find out the true cost to the elephants.
Drinks are included in the ticket price.
