Focus series: Retail, F&B and Hospitality industries

Brands like Hyatt and Starbucks used Design Thinking for transformation. Design Thinking’s problem solving approach is ideal for bringing innovation to industries under disruption.

BETTER INNOVATION THROUGH DESIGN THINKING is a 3 hour hands-on, activity-based workshop aimed at people within the retail, F&B and hospitality industry.

Workshop content:

• Introduction and objective setting (5.00-5.30pm)

• Introduction to Design Thinking approach and tools (5.30-6.00pm)

• Hands on practice (6.00am-7.30pm)

• Decoding learning and application to your business (7.30-8.00pm)

Key outcomes:

1. Gain an appreciation of the human centered design thinking framework

2. Develop the ability to frame the ‘challenge’ from a human centered design perspective

3. Leverage consumer empathy to drive innovation

4. Apply prototyping and agile testing for converting ideas into action

Facilitator profile:

Ravi is a Design Thinking and Innovation specialist from the University of Virginia with proven expertise in setting up Design Thinking practice and driving the culture of innovation. He facilitates workshops to educate people on Design Thinking and develop a Design Thinking mind set in organisations. In a career spanning over 25 years of information technology he most recently served as Business Head at the Royal Bank of Scotland for more than 15 years. He is also ICF accredited coach and a mentor to senior executives and corporate professionals

Manisha is a human behaviour specialist with over 25 years of experience in Asia and Middle East. She has successfully helped leading global and local brands develop products and improve their customer journey’s. She works with designers, innovation consultants and large multinationals to put the customer at the centre of the innovation process using Design Thinking skills. She is also an adjunct CET lecturer at a local Polytechnic.
